Why Sherbert?? and other Randomness

The other night I started to question all that I have come to know as good and true in this world. Something as simple and natural and wonderful as SHERBERT. I never questioned it before then but I started thinking what are the origins of Sherbert. Is the name based on the wizard that invented this delicious treat?? So I googled it and what did I get-

What the hell is Sherbet…I know it as Sherbert… So i look at the tub of this delicious stuff in the freezer convinced the one I have is actually good ol’ sherbert not this new fancy stuff called Sherbet. And this is when everything started to crumble in my mind. It is actually called Sherbet!! Who in heck fire started to call it Sherbert, whoever it was was the mastermind of a much greater plan… a plan to dupe the entire world or at least my little nook into believing the name should be as he sees fit- SHERBERT!! I was inspired. My new goal is to do the same start a movement to change the pronunciation of a common product to the point people do not know what the real name is…

Kind of like when you hear a Weird Al song you can never remeber the lyrics to the original.
