I seriously almost cried during this. You can see how its totally blowing her mind to play with him. One of the greatest Grammy performances I’ve ever seen. Singing Your Song with Elton John, she must have been on cloud 9.

Vinyl Project Underway

For xmas I bought Eli a usb turntable. No not so he could kick out funky beats but so we could minimize our insane growth of vinyl albums. Many a Sunday were spent at the dirt mall conspicuously rooting through Johnny Jacksons warbled LP’s looking for that gem that would find its way into our life soundtrack. Since then so many things have evolved and our IPODS have taken center stage and our long forgotten 12″s  have collected a respectable layer of dust hibernating in the basement. Before the holidays I came across the 2 forest green rubbermaid bins marked “Eli and Chars Rockin Albums”. I decided these lost souls deserved a place in the digital age.

Which brings us to today. The turntable wasn’t the best I figured we would get a starter one with a decent transfer rate since we really don’t know what were doing and were not sound aficionados. Well at least I’m not cant speak for Eli as he is famous for a certain bass chip that is sure to enhance the sound quality of any boom box;)  Eli bought us some new records from InSound last week

The New Spoon(which Im transferring 1st) although we get a digital copy I wanted to listen to it so desperately and thought it would make a good 1st go round(no turntable pun intended).

haven’t listened to this one yet but if its anything like the last album its gonna take me a few listens before I fall in love.

Now onto lots of Stevie Wonder..David Bowie..Willie Nelson and my favorite- HarmoniCats an Album of Cats playing Harmonica(well at least that’s what I’ve always imagined).
