Its the Char Show- Members Only

I never realized how much I talk about myself in the 3rd person. Char says this and Char does that, pretty obnoxious but its a recent phenomenon. I guess with Ely not here to ramble his famous drawling of …..CHHHHHAAAAAARRRR, I get used to not hearing my name spoken out loud and need to remind myself that yes Char does exist.

I was taken aback recently of how sweet it can sound when someone just says your name to you. Its something easily taken for granted, just a simple spoken name can all at once call up feelings of validity and self awareness. How my name being spoken to me in such a passive manner can burrow so deep, as to awaken a self that has been hibernating for an indefinite winter. (HA…BREATHE) A name I was once not particularly fond of,  but have learned to embrace over the years as my own as my home. I’m comfortable being Char when someone else mirrors that identity with the same comfort its an incredibly pleasing feeling.

Simplified

Im committed to simplifying my life. I look around this room and see a tidal wave of useless pointless and non functional things about to engulf my entirety. What was once a space used for an office and arts and crafts is now a cluttered decaying sanctuary for dried up markers with no caps, broken crayons, unread mail, photo projects that are not completed, and wires, wires wires everywhere without a place to call home. That’s just one room I don’t even want to get started with what we have in the basement storage cabinets. I have so much Halloween fodder it would be a testament to Jack Skellingtons finest work. Every gosh darned orange light,witch  garland, and ghoulish skeleton head can potentially be found this side of the Target aisles. I have trouble staying organized and staying focused with all of this clutter up in my face. I have had as of late very serious bouts of me vs. stuff and stuff seems to win out every time. I am even noticing it in the kids, just redid their room and bought all new little handy storage bins for castle people, animals, regular folks etc..and they cant even contend with the amount of nonsense smashed into that little space. Ever see a project so overwhelming that you just dont bother with it, even if your intention every day is to tackle it there is always one reason or another that you find to put it off just one more day. I have even put off my reorg of my office space for reasons as trivial as my IPOD isn’t working so I cant listen to my headphones, although I could play music on the speakers of the computer that was enough rationale for me to bump my tremendous task.     I have so many electrical doo dads that all do about the same thing. In fact I just got a new phone and because I cant blog my pictures I got yet another new phone now I have 2 cell phones that can take pictures, and video, 2 video cameras, 2 regular digital cameras, a laptop a pc and  2 IPODS. Im about to say a fond farewell to most of it hopefully Craigs List can support the amount of posting ads this girl is going to need to put up to help de-clutter her life.
And so it must be done. Stuff look out cause I’m about to get all Clean Sweep on your ass and you’ll never know what hit ya.
