Light in the Basement

Light in the Basement

not like Light in the Attic

a light in the attic

is in a place

you can get at it

light in the basement

was trapped in displacement

hidden behind boards and bases

in between the no where spaces

the switch for this bulb

could never be found

it always was on

even when we weren’t round

when we walked down the stairs

you couldn’t help peeking

into the pinhole

where lights always leaking

how could this be

a light in the wall

a bulb that hangs

as if from nothing at all

it wasn’t in the staircase

and wasn’t in the kitchen

it hid in a void

no human could ever have fit in

who would have hung it?

how could it be done?

why was this bulb in a place

where there should have been none?

what was its use?

why did it never burn out?

these are the questions that were never found out

the light in the basement

I bet its still glowing

behind panels of wood

the mystery keeps growing

totally impossible that Mike Whiter responded to the secret light poem.

i think there is a really good possibility that i am going to break into the old house and check on the status of these mysteries.

    haha

i have had multiple dreams to this effect and only one realy contemplation of completion.

parked on atlantic ave and snuck up…..
